After completing a placement with ABN Amro in Equity Derivatives, Tabassum graduated with a Masters degree in Mathemaics and started on the Front office grad scheme at RBC Capital Markets. Tabassum was one of the very few Asian women in Sales Trading working on the Trading floor and the only Asian female in Foreign Exchange.
She now works for State Street Bank as one of the youngest Vice Presidents on the Official Institutions Sales desk, covering Central Banks and Sovereign Wealth Funds. She travels the world globally meeting Central Banks and Sovereign Wealth Funds to discuss their investment needs and challenges. Tabassum has an excellent relationship across the sector and is well known by her peers in the 'market' and official institutions globally. She aspires to join the World Bank one day to transfer her knowledge and relationships to developing countries Central Banks.
Alongside working full time she is studying a Masters at Harvard University. Tabassum has also contributed statistical analysis to a published paper examining the relationship between strategy and performance in the global financial services sector. Additionally Tabassum has been involved with consulting work on financial projections and realisable values over a 100 year investment period for a promoter of a substantial Development Corporation.
Tabassum is a role model for Millenials and is actively involved in Mentoring and coaching young aspiring bankers, her passion is to help others to succeed.
Research Assistant to Dr Rehan ul-Haq providing statistical analysis support for a University of Birmingham project examining the relationship between strategy and performance in the global financial services sector. This is a published paper.

Active member for the charity The Noor Foundation UK - as well as organising and participating in fund raising events, galas and other activities, Tabassum takes part in an annual 10k run to raise money for the Charity and has personally raised over £7,000 to date.
This year Tabassum completed The National Three Peaks Challenge, which involved climbing three of the highest peaks in the UK (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowden) one after the other in just 24 hours!
Mentor for undergraduates and postgraduates looking to enter Banking. Personally and now also professionally through State Street sponsored community events.
Tabassum also enjoys Bikram Yoga, Dancing and is an advanced skier, having skied across the Alps. She danced with Shilpa Shetty as a background dancer in the Bollywood Oscars!
