Additional Contributions:

Ram has special interest in writing complex technical knowledge in his area of expertise (management) in a language that is accessible to common public. For example, he wrote a book on Data Envelopment Analysis in 2003. It deals with a very complex mathematical topic but has been written in a very generic language for use by beginners.

In future, Ram hopes to write more such books for the benefit of common public. He is also interested in writing similarly accessible books in his mother tongue, Tamil.

Ram engages in transferring knowledge to India by being part of educational establishments in India and by delivering special lectures there.

Ram has successfully completed a number of research projects across the world. He is on the editorial boards of International Journal of Quality and Standards, International Journal of Advanced Operations Management and International Journal of Business Performance and Supply Chain Modelling. In the past, he was the area editor of Opsearch, the journal of the Operational Research Society of India. In addition, he was also the co-editor of a special issue of International Journal of Production Economics, 2006-07 and the editor of a special issue of International Journal of Agile Systems and Management, 2006-07. He has authored two books, one on Indian Transport and another on Data Envelopment Analysis. His research articles have appeared in many prestigious internationally refereed journals including Omega, Tourism Economics, International Journal of Production Economics, Supply Chain Management, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Transport Policy, and, Transportation Research.
