NATO (HQ ARRC - Allied Rapid Reaction Corps)
Created and led first formal, internal and external social media campaign for the NATO headquarters, UK. Recruited and overlooked film crew and coordinated military personnel at headquarters and on location in Norway for duration of project. Aimed at raising the profile of arduous adventure training to positively portray training methods in preparation for emergency deployment into conflict zones. Outcome was hugely successful in transforming military outlook on how social media campaigns can change cultural and organisational attitudes.

Royal Navy (HMS Sultan - Defence School of Marine Engineering)
Creation and implementation of a new Equality & Diversity course for delivery at Phase II training school. Approximately 1800 students will complete these bespoke courses annually. Recruited and led creative team and film crew. Recruited and managed appropriate Royal Navy staff and students to feature on camera. Sessions included creating blended media products as teaching tools for young recruits requiring branding, innovation and problem solving.

Motorvision HD (International TV channel)
A complex project involving dubbing over 300 German programmes into English, re-versioning 31 programmes and producing a new seven part series on Motoring attractions in the UK. Talent management, production management and recruitment. Team of 25 freelancers was set-up to transcribe, translate, script edit and audio mix to complete the dubbing contract. Recruited and managed crews to produce all other programming. This project was completed within an eight month period in preparation for the launch on the English language station in Dubai. Budgets were low. Programmes are now broadcast in over 29 countries worldwide.

Commissioned to lead training programmes for BBC Staff and various community groups in a complicated Outreach programme. Requirements included writing and delivering bespoke courses for clients and producing various media products. After successfully delivering the first project, the film was used internally as an example of good practice.

Glyndwr University: Community Radio Station, Calon FM
Launched, established and ran station. Responsible for all talent acquisition, retention plus end-to-end learning and development across the network, including developing core competencies and managing performance management, managing internal/external suppliers, on-going learning needs and developing appropriate learning programmes. Managed all staffing issues with particular emphasis on reflecting full diversity of the region. Coached production staff and on-air talent across network. Developed relationships between network and external organisations. Overlooked live Outside Broadcasts across the region & all social action campaigns. This project was issued an extremely low budget, yet the station was launched within six months and has been running for 7 years.

Led specialist diversity project pan-BBC for 4 years. Purpose of the Diversity Database was to encourage programme makers to truly reflect minorities groups across all BBC output. Responsible for recruitment of contributors/experts involving in-depth interviews of over 3000 applicants. Responsible for training senior BBC personnel and management in how to utilise contributors and effectively increase ratios of diverse talent on air as well as raising cultural awareness within the orgranisation. Coordinated with BBC data protection lawyers, audience research, BBC resources and branding departments.

BBC Nations & Regions - “Who Am I?”: Nationwide
2003 – 2003 (less than a year)
Part of a two-man team that produced a series of five genealogy programmes in celebration of the bicentenary of the abolition of slavery. The “Who Do You Think You Are?” team suggested three months pre-production per programme. All five programmes were completed in three months. Played a key role in the success of this project and was not only responsible for the genealogy aspect, but also for managing five British families in the UK, Jamaica and Barbados, as well as coordinating with key personnel in all three countries. Living relatives were found during this limited time period.

Presented an innovation award for concept. Led and developed the first ever Community-based programme for the BBC Wales network. Responsible for recruiting, training and managing a large group of non-media individuals across Wales to work as community journalists. “The View From Here” series ran for several seasons.
