Extracurricular:

Glenn always aims to do research that creates positive impacts not just on the marginalized peoples but also on the environment. The flood detector, biodiesel plants, automatic weather stations are some of the exceptional inventions that are now being used by the farmers and fishermen. He has established strong linkages with the stakeholders (LGUs, NGOs, POs, IPs and others) to address the threats of probable disasters. He has given the “Making Universities Resilient”, a University-Based Disaster Management training program, on the tertiary education for free. The Environmental and Climate Change Research Institute, which he founded in 2011, is composed of undergraduate students who have the passion of creating experience-based and scientific solutions, and humanitarian services through research. He has trained these students to become Junior Research Scientists to teach minds, touch hearts, and transform lives. He let his researchers to be exposed on the real-life scenarios (e.g. being a farmer or fisherman) so they can recommend pertinent solutions that are based on technical and social frameworks.

Aside from his technical, social, management, and policy contributions, he has also organized extension services, “Paskong Lugaw”, an annual outreach program for elderly and the poor; Task Force “Habagat”, a relief drive operations he organized in 2012 for the benefit of the flood victims in the cities of Caloocan-Malabon-Navotas-Valenzuela (CAMANAVA); Project “Abot-Kamay”, which is a rescue-relief drive activity done in the remote provinces and islands.
There is one outstanding humanitarian effort that I know about Glenn. That is his selfless dedication to conduct research without any financial resources. He does research for free – no honorarium, no salary. Out of thirty-two (32) research projects, twenty-eight (28) have been done in the spirit of volunteerism. He is the only person whom I know who goes to the poorest islands and most remote areas to reach out to his countrymen at his own expense. He believes that “SERVICE TO PEOPLE AND ENVIRONMENT IS A SERVICE TO GOD”, which is his ultimate advocacy.

In the media:

Glenn has been invited in numerous TV and radio stations and he was also featured in some magazines and newspaper. Kindly see some of the links:
