Nominations for the inaugural Asian Professional Awards has been extended !

The nomination period for the inaugural Asian Professional Awards has been extended to 13th October 2014. The Awards which are supported by Ed Miliband and Boris Johnson amongst many other leading figures from the political and corporate spheres, will celebrate the achievements of British professionals from Asian backgrounds as well as help to create the next generation of role models within various industries.

Anybody with full or partial parental heritage from the continent of Asia is eligible for nomination, from Turkey in the West to Japan in the East. There is also a comprehensive and fair shortlisting process which takes into consideration the educational and major professional achievements of nominees, contributions to their profession, votes of confidence from others, and much more. A high profile group of judges which include Chief Executives, Managing Directors and other leading corporate figures will decide the winners in their respective fields.

Ed Miliband, the Leader of the Opposition, said: “These awards are so important because they celebrate the achievements of those who make a real and positive impact on their colleagues and in their particular industries.”

Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, supports the Awards and said “I am delighted that London is hosting the inaugural Asian Professional Awards. For centuries, our vibrant and diverse Asian community has been a vital part of what makes our city so great, contributing to its economic prosperity across a wide variety of sectors and helping to make it the success that it is today.”

Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, has also endorsed the Awards, saying that he is “very pleased that the Asian Professional Awards are celebrating the contribution the Asian Community makes to the UK economy.”

Legal, Banking, Finance, IT and Technology, Design and Creative Arts, Media, Medical, Dentistry, Education and Public Service

The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Monday 13th October 2014.
