Nominations for the Asian Professional Awards 2015 are now live
Honouring the Best of Asian Professionals in the UK
Following the resounding success of the inaugural awards last November, the Asian Professional Awards (APA) 2015 are now open for nominations. The APA will honour the excellence of Asian professionals in the UK and submissions for nominations will remain open until Sunday, 5th July 2015. The winners will be announced at a star-studded awards ceremony in central London in the autumn.
The Asian Professional Awards 2015 will be awarded to the best professionals in the following 12 categories, each of which is a profession with a high percentage of Asians employed within them:
Banking & Finance, Dentistry, Design & Creative, Education, Engineering & Science, IT & Technology, Legal, Media, Medical, Pharmacy, Property & Construction, Public Service.
Jasvir Singh, APA Director, said “The Asian Professional Awards were amazingly popular last year, with over 5,000 votes and nominations, and I’m sure that this year the competition will be even stronger. The APA gives a platform to those unsung heroes who have risen to the heights of their respective professions and who are the future role models for all Britons, regardless of colour or background.”
The awards will be judged by a panel of industry leaders including CEOs and Senior Directors from the UK’s premier corporate institutions and public bodies.
Param Singh, APA Director said “The beauty of the APA is that anybody can nominate their friends, work colleagues, family members and even themselves for an award, as long as they live in Britain and have Asian heritage. Asian for us means the whole continent of Asia, from Turkey to Japan and everywhere in between. We are shining a light on to the achievements of Asians in the UK, and we want people to be involved in that by either nominating individuals or voting for them.”
The Prime Minister, David Cameron, has commended the APA and said
“These new awards recognise just some of the many thousands of Asian professionals who are excelling in Britain today. Whether it’s in the court room, the newsroom or the classroom, Asian men and women are not only providing expert services, skills and capabilities; they are delivering for Britain too.”
